Coming Up at Halide
Spend 20 minutes in our studio and leave with portraits or professional headshots that reflect your personality and style. Whether it’s for yourself, your family, or your pet, we’ll work with what you bring to create images you’ll be proud of.
These sessions support developing Halide Studios’ workshops and art initiatives, helping us nurture creativity in the local community while giving you beautiful, professional results.

At Halide Studios, we offer hands-on workshops for photographers of all levels, designed to build technical skills, inspire, and support your artistic journey.
In our first workshop, Build Your Portfolio: Studio Photography Foundations, is where you’ll master lighting, portraiture, product photography, workflow and have the chance to grow your commercial portfolio with real clients on a simulated commercial shoot.
Explore darkroom and analogue photography workshops, dive into experimental techniques, and discover ways to develop, refine, and sequence your work. Our sessions balance practical skills, mentorship, and creative exploration, with opportunities to work alongside experienced facilitators and fellow artists. Each workshop leaves you with tangible results to add to your portfolio and the confidence to take your practice further.
Join us for our first Open Studio day in March 2026 at Halide Studios, Whāingaroa/Raglan! Explore work by our collective artists alongside pieces by all of our collective artists in the stockroom.
Come by for a chat, a cup of coffee, and a relaxed opportunity to see a variety of photographic and lens-based work up close. Whether you’re curious about our creative processes, interested in seeing some work or keen to see our new space and portable darkroom, our open studio days are a welcoming space for everyone.
