This lesson introduces the foundational principles of analogue photography through hands-on use of your own camera. The session is paced to meet you where you are, offering clear guidance without unnecessary complexity.
You may bring any still film camera, 35mm, medium format (120), or large format (4×5). The emphasis is on understanding how your camera works, how film responds to light, and how to make intentional exposure decisions.
This session is suitable for beginners, those returning to film after time away, or photographers transitioning from digital to analogue practice.

Film selection and basic film characteristics
Camera fundamentals:
Aperture
Shutter speed
ISO
How exposure decisions affect the final image
Practical shooting guidance using your chosen format
Your own still film camera (35mm, 120, or 4×5)
Optional: notebook or sketchbook
